It is my blog and I will write what I want to!

I have not been posting often because I have not been inspired. So lately when I do post they have been lame. Why Becs' what is happening? It is because I have felt my hands were tied. But no more!

SARAH PALIN IS NOT A FEMINIST!!!!
One of these ladies is not like the other!

Now I feel better. Lately so many blogs I enjoy reading, have been pro-Palin and what a wonderful role model she is for women. Huh? Yes she is attractive, has five children, one whom has special needs, runs a state, is a former beauty queen. But what about her values ladies? Pro-life, wants to teach Creationism, doesn't believe in global warming, EXTREMELY VOCAL about her religious views. ( Last time I checked Church and State are separate, that is what our country is founded on people!!!) As women, we can not allow someone like this to represent what modern feminism stands for! Our great -grand mothers, grand-mothers, great- aunt, aunts, mothers fought too hard ( at least mine did) for equal rights, equal education, equal pay for women. Their entire point was for us to have a CHOICE. Right now you have a choice to be pro-life or pro-choice, to work or stay home, to run a state, or the PTA, ~ We have a choice, that is what FEMINISM is about ~ Ladies. Not hating men and not wearing lipstick, but allowing choices. Are we going to stand back and allow a "role model" to be chosen to represent us, just because she is anatomically correct? I would rather wait another election cycle for a more viable candidate who represents our needs. Do not call your self a feminist and then vote for someone who will set women back decades, she is a wolf in sheep's clothing and does not belong in our pack! xoxo, Becs

p.s. Now I feel better, back to the land of pink and green happiness.

p.s.s. Take a moment and read one of the articles, expand your mind.

I love all the comments and opinions, regardless if you agree or disagree with me! I think it is very important to hear all sides. I am happy to politely and respectfully agree to disagree!

A woman VP would be history for our country. Palin may not be the first choice of some, but perhaps she's still better then second to none.

No, don't vote for her just because she is a woman. Vote for the candidates who are QUALIFIED and will be good leaders. Pick the kind of history you want to make.

Becs, AMEN sistah!

Palin is qickly on her way to making a complete boob...make that fool...of herself.

The debate should clear up a lot of misunderstanding about her competence... beyond pushing MaCain's wheel chair.

Here, here! Glad to see you are feeling better and kicking it! First Amendment Becs! The Irish Redhead was offended when SP was announced as the running mate because she thought JM was presuming women were so stupid that they would blindly vote for anyone he could dredge up with the same plumbing.

She apparently likes to ban books too according to the NYT. Another one of her "sack attempts" when she got to be governor was to remove some sort of library administrator for not firing some poor local librarian who wouldn't get "dangerous" books out of the library. She failed in this attempt.

But....looking down my street all I see is a sea of blue McCain/Palin yard signs...odd times eh?

hee hee I'm glad you got that off of your chest, Becs!

I agree that everyone should read all of the facts about both sides and then make an educated decision based on the issues that they feel are most important. :)

I agree...thanks for stopping by my blog. I'm happy to find yours and will be visiting again soon. Sounds like our politics might be similar.

Hmm...

I disagree with you about Palin not being a feminist. I think one can be a feminist and be pro-life. I just think that the option has been lost by some. I consider myself a forward thinking woman who holds a lot of feminist views, but I am unforgivably pro-life.

As for the book banning, if you look at the list MOST of the books on the list weren't even published at the time that list came out. It has been proven to be a fake list by a number of different sources. I believe [although I can't be certain] even the NYT has admitted it was a fake.

I think it is great though that everyone has the right to have different opinions, you know? I really like her, and I've been following her since she became governor, but I completely respect the other side of the argument as well.

I think it is important to vote for whom you feel is the better choice not based on race, sex, age, religion, etc. Luckily we live in a society that tries to value knowledge which helps us all make decisions which we think are best.

I completely disagree with you politically, but I think this is a well-written and important post. It shows a lot of views and thoughts that a lot of people have.

Pro-Palin blogs? Really?? Well, I guess they are out there . . .

I think Biden's main task in the debate is to get Palin to own her creationism views. Because that is just CRAZY STUFF. I think when most people see how extreme she is, they will find her an unacceptable candidate.

Glad to see another blogger join the anti-Palin rant. I've probably lost a few readers because of mine, but it's who I am. I can handle people not agreeing with me, but I just can't shut up about what I believe.

Couldn't agree more!

I want to pull my hair out when I hear "those liberals...blah blah blah...." If you are not a wealthy white male, liberal views got you to where you are today. Your right to vote, right to associate with people who don't look like you, right to have a glass of wine at dinner, right to say whatever it is you feel, right to walk into any church of your chosing (or not go to church at all), drive a car, earn your own $, own land, own a business, have a bank account, go to college .....and so on. It is that forword thinking that creates progress.

Think about something you don't agree with. Anything. It could be a religious view or social view or whatever. Got that thought? Now consider what your life would be like if you HAD TO LIVE BY THAT THOUGHT and that thought alone. You had no other options. You can no longer go to your church or decide on a school or eat chicken for dinner or wear pink (the horror!).... The beauty of this country is that we (thoretically) have the right to make our own choices in life.

Palin is NOT a feminist. I also find it hurtful that a party who until a few weeks ago mocked such thinking is now pretending they own the damn term. Perhaps she is a nice person. But she is so anti-American progress that is scares me to pieces. I just cannot believe that any human being in 2008 can actually question global warming!

Voting for a person because of their gender is no different than NOT voting for someone because of their gender or race. It's the same. And it's selling out!

Don't forget about her policy on wolf/bear hunting, which the citizens of Alaska voted against and she overturned, her law suit to remove polar bears from the endangered species list, under her leadership the state of Alaska was charging rape victims for rape kits (because the rape kits contain the morning after pill). For such a pro lifer she sure seems to hate women and have great disregard for "Gods creatures" that don't happen to be a fetus.
I just don't get it.
