An award

My new friend and fellow politically minded, pink and green lover, Figs Lavender and Cheese gave me this award a few days ago. I was very touched, (however a bit freaked out by the bible verse, but that is just me). She wrote a very nice passage about teachers and how much she admires them. It meant so much to me. For all you parents out there, now is a good time to send your child's teacher a little gift. Like a small gift card to Starbucks, a mug of candy, a small plant, a note to say Thanks. Just a little kind gesture. It means more to us then you know. More often then not we hear only the negative, and it is always nice to know that parents think we are doing a good job. Anyway this was not meant to sound like a plea for presents, but rather a big Thank you to a new friend.

You're probably wondering why anyone would give me a reward. Let's review the requirements for this one:

1. Must display a cheerful attitude. I try to see the glass as half full, and be kind to others.
2. Must love one another. I really do care for others although my Palin posts do not seem like it.
3. Must make mistakes. Hourly, daily, always
4. Must learn from others. Gladly.
5. Must be a positive contributor to the blog world. I have made a few friends, but the jury is still out.
6. Must love life. Life is so precious, For the most part I love my life.
7. Must love kids. I love children, always have. I enjoy teaching them, and being around them daily. They are our future and we must protect, nurture and educate them ( not only academically. They are all we have. ( In my humble opinion)

So here's proof I am capable of playing by rules:

THE RULES OF THE AWARD
1. Link back to the awards creator. [Check.]
2. Post the rules if you receive the award. [Check.]
3. Choose five people to receive the award. [Working on it.]
4. You must fit the characteristics of the award. [Someone thinks so.]
5. You must post the characteristics of a recipient. [OK!]
6. You must create a post sharing your win with others. [Got it.]

Thanks again Figs! xooxo, Becs

p.s. Don't forget to send your child's teacher a present or thank you note. I just got a nice email from a parent. That means so much!

Yeah, I have to admit I was TOTALLY freaked by the bible verse. It's as much religion as you'll ever find over at my blog. But I appreciated the sentiments behind the award and wanted to pass it on in that spirit.
