Yesterday RED ( my bff from college and my neighbor) was in the ER with food poisoning. In general we are one anothers companions on visits to the ER. We were acting a bit silly, looking at face book (hers) on her Mobile, laughing about observations of the other ER patients ( ourselves included) and trying to lift our spirits in a scary situation. We thought she might have salmonella poisoning, but she doesn't. I remarked to her " oh we are acting like we are twenty-two and not thirty-two," we laughed and let it go. Well flash forward two hours later, I went in the hallway to use the hand sanitizer. Red asked me how I knew it was there and I said "oh we have them at school, and I am always on the look-out for them." The older ( not that much ) nurse smiled and said " Oh where do you go to school?" Music stopped, I replied in my most grown-up voice " I teach third grade at blah-blah school." She looked so embarrassed and put her head down. Red pipes up , "Oh did you think we were still in school?" The nurse answers " I thought you were talking about your dorm." Yikes, I was wearing jeans, flip-flops, a fleece and my hair in a messy bun. Red's hair was similar and she had no make-up on. I was wearing my rings, which are not over the top, but are noticeable. We both eat fairly well, stay out of the sun, and take care of ourselves, but still. She is a litigator for a firm downtown, complete with the big corner office, and expense account and handles big cases for her firm. I am a mother of an eight year old, etc... I still can't decide if it was a compliment or we were acting like twenty-two year olds. We did ask one of the nurses if the young ER doctor was married (Red is single) she didn't know if he was. Red thinks he wouldn't be interested in someone whose symptoms she described, they were less then sexy. Oh well another day in the life of Becs. xooxox, Becs
p.s. I tried to find pictures of college age girls and women in their thirties. However the google search was less then appropriate So no visual folks!

when in doubt, take it as a compliment!
I think it was a compliment!
Certainly a compliment! I am a lot older than you, and I was actually carded [only due to an odd restaurant policy and a VERY new employee] the other day and even THAT made me happy!

Compliment!
My sister will be 31 in December and gets carded more than I do. She is a lawyer and no one ever thinks she is her actual age!
Now Miss Becs' we think it is just too wonderful that someone thought you were in school!
Good for you guys! Hope RED is feeling better.
Grins and giggles for the week ahead...
