Fun
Hello Boho's,
Our trip to NYC was fantastic! Rockstar Hubby was very cooperative and indulged my whims. We tried to see the Lilly retrospective at Parson' s and it was gone! We missed it by a week or so, too bad. We walked around the village, saw Stevie VanSant (sp?) of the E street band and Soprano's fame. Had lunch at lunch at a lovely little bistro type place, although we had been searching for the perfect deli-type restaurant. I was getting hungry, and might have stomped my foot and said "enough, I am cold"! After lunch we had PINKBERRY, absolutely delicious, sadly we do not have it, or I would eat it everyday. We went to the New York Public Library and it was AMAZING. So beautiful, I would recommend a visit, it is nothing like you imagine. I am a big nerd and love to read, I really enjoyed our visit. The movie/dinner was LOVELY, the club was gorgeous, one of the oldest in NYC, it was founded the same year as our current school. Rockstar Hubby was unhappy with the sound, ( he usually is), but the non-musicians loved it and thought it was fantastic. The members of the club were lovely and gracious, while I am not a fan of "clubs" that exclude others, this is not one. If a few things were different, Rockstar Hubby and I would/could be members. Our hotel was pretty cool, everything was black, black, black. The next day we walked up the park to the Upper East side. California girl had taken me there a few years back and showed me around her old stomping grounds. I wanted to show Rock Star Hubby a few places there as well. We saw the Lilly store on Madison Avenue, it was beautiful and we were laughing that in a store that big, the only thing for the Boy who is not a baby anymore was on a small table holding five different items. We saw Brooke Shields and the younger girl who is one of the stars filming Lipstick Jungle. We stopped in a little store that California girl took me called E.A.T.S. ~ it is a cute store for children/adults with so many little unusual things to buy. I got the boy something for his stocking. Next door is a great higher-end deli-type restaurant by the same name. The food is DELICIOUS, and the service is fantastic. I would highly recommend a stop at both next time you are in NYC, on the Upper East Side, on Madison Avenue, in the upper 80's ,I believe. I am still figuring out how NYC is laid out. In the train station we met an actor from one of our favorite shows The Wire. His name is Anwan Glover and he played Slim Charles, he is also staring in the a movie coming out in Jan '09 about Notorious B.I.G., he is Snoop Dog. This gentleman was super friendly, was thrilled that we were fans, and very excited about upcoming projects. He was my favorite celeb. that we saw. I also saw Debbie Phelps and had to comment to her that I thought she was wonderful and a fantastic role model. She looked to be in a hurray, and I might have startled her. Oh well, I think she is great. The trip was perfect, and I had the best time.
Thanks to all who commented, I will visit your blogs soon! xooxox, Becs
p.s I met the C.E.O. of all my favorite magazines, and told him how much I loved them all. He was genuinely happy to hear that, he was very down to earth!

NYC
Rockstar Hubby and I are off to New York! He did the music and sound design for a certain club's
(a member not party/dance) history. We are going to see it presented and enjoy some time together in NYC, one of our favorite cities. I am hoping to see the Lilly retrospective at Parsons. It is funny to me that I was an art major and I am going to a city full of art, yet I am hoping to see a retrospective of dresses. Oh well that is what I like.
I am obsessed with the Twilight series. Anyone else? I won a prize pack from a book store that had tickets to the sneak peek of the movie, a t-shirt and posters. Sadly the movie is when we will be in NYC, but I was able to give the prize pack to my super cute/awesome babysitter. We just had a long discussion about the books, which ones she liked, websites. I was happy to give her the prize pack and she was thrilled. I am a bit old for posters and t-shirts of movies.
Hope any readers that I have left out there are well! xooox, Becs

Be nice
I was a bit boastful this morning, not very kind to the other candiate's supporters. I was just so happy!! I am thrilled a young family, (with little kids and a puppy) will move into the White House.

Michelle Obama is so lovely and a great role model. Exciting times in America! xooxxo, Becs

I told you so!!
What a beautiful morning! How nice to wake up to a Country of BLUE. Today I say - Hot Damn I told you so. The Country spoke, and History was made. I am proud to be an American, and excited for the future, and the future of our children.
